The same year, the first color movie is demonstrated, the clip-on tie is designed and the Sir Francis Drake Hotel was built; it was 1928.Known as “The Drake” to locals, the elegant, romantic and classic hotel hardly evokes thoughts of men wearing clip-on ties.
